The Layer Breton TVCA Annual Village Fete
The entire village and the team at The Hare and Hounds would like to thank everyone that came along to the TVCA Annual Village Fete on Saturday 21st July.
The day was a roaring success even after the previous day’s torrential rain and flooding in Colchester; the sun came out and beamed down on the Paddock and all that attended!
Kerry and Mark would like to take this opportunity to say a very special ‘Thank You’ to Sue who organised the entire event and would also like to thank all of our staff who worked extremely hard to make the day one to remember… So thank you Holly, Martin, Vanessa, Sue, Sarah and of course the kitchen staff Steve, Emma, Bev, Alex and Ollie for making the day a huge success.
At least 500 people came along on Saturday to enjoy the atmosphere, watch the entertainment and get involved in the huge selection of activities, some of the favourites being the 26ft Climbing Wall, the Army Tank, Archery and the Donkey rides. We also had a guest appearance from the one and only Sponge Bob Square Pants, who came along to open the fete and even stopped by the beer tent for a cheeky refreshment!
We would like to thank all of the entertainers, the activity organisers and the stall holders that braved the versatile British Weather and morphed our paddock into a hive of excitement and fun, especially all of the children from Starz Performing Arts who laid on an outstanding performance for all of the visitors.
Below are just a few pictures that captured the days fantastic atmosphere.
